WILKES-BARRE — A man apparently high on methamphetamine robbed a convenience store of a half gallon of chocolate milk with a pair of hedge clippers, according to police.

Keith Jamie Golomb, 30, of Plymouth, entered the Turkey Hill Minit Market at 632 Carey Ave. around 3:10 a.m. Thursday and began swinging the hedge clippers, nearly striking some customers, police said.

Golomb grabbed a half gallon of chocolate milk and brought it to the counter, where he announced to the clerk that he was not going to pay for it, according to police.

He took the milk outside and entered a vehicle that was parked in front of the store, police said. Officers arriving on scene found Golomb sitting in the vehicle and holding the hedge clippers and chocolate milk, according to police.

Police say witnesses had reported that Golomb was high on meth and told them he planned to rob the store. Golomb was arrested without incident.

Police charged Golomb with a single felony count of robbery. He was arraigned Thursday morning and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
