PITTSBURGH - The driver who struck and killed the son of a Lackawanna County Judge in April will not be charged in his death, Allegheny County District Attorneys Office spokesperson Mike Manko said.
Cody Barrasse, 22, of Moosic, was struck by a vehicle on Bates Street in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh in the early morning hours of April 6. He died shortly after from his injuries.
"Following an extensive review of the evidence, which included video of the accident from cameras in the vicinity, and interviews with all the individuals involved, our office has concluded at this time that the circumstances do not merit criminal charges against anyone who was present at the time of the accident," Mr. Manko said in a statement.
Since the accident resulted in a death, the file will remain open. Should any additional information come to light, prosecutors and police will use it to review their findings.
Mr. Barrasse is the son of Lackawanna County Judge Michael Barrasse and Dr. Linda D'Andrea Barrasse.
