Lifeguard classes offered
SCRANTON - Three days of lifeguard and CPR certification classes will be offered at the Weston Field indoor pool beginning on Monday and continuing on Wednesday and June 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the city Department of Parks and Recreation.
The courses, offered in conjunction by the city of Scranton and the American Red Cross, are necessary for employment as a lifeguard and would assist when applying for a position at a city pool. Candidates must have a $100 deposit for course materials and must commit to all three days of training. The cost for new lifeguard and CPR certification is $250 while re-certification is $150.
