Project slows downtown traffic
SCRANTON - An ongoing project to replace traffic lights in the city made its way to Wyoming and Lackawanna avenues on Thursday, snarling traffic during the morning commute.
The project called for the closure of the eastbound side of the 400 block of Lackawanna Avenue and the southbound side of the 100 block of Wyoming Avenue, according to the Lackawanna County Communications Center.
Mark Dougher, city Department of Public Works director, said work will not continue today. The crews work 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday.
