Go Lackawanna, a weekly newspaper focusing on the Scranton area, apparently has ceased publication.

The tabloid was not distributed on Sunday, the day when it appeared regularly on newsstands for the last two years.

It was published by Impressions Media, the parent company of the Times Leader newspaper of Wilkes-Barre.

"The salesman from the Times Leader was in today," Ray Tilberry, a clerk at Frank's News, 302 N. Washington Ave., Scranton, said on Monday. "He said Go Lackawanna is done."

Markowitz Brothers Tobacco and News Center on Linden Street, Scranton, did not receive copies of Go Lackawanna on Sunday, clerk Patricia Stanton said.

She said she was given the same message as Mr. Tilberry. "Go Lackawanna is no more," she said.

Efforts to reach executives of Impressions Media were unsuccessful.

Go Lackawanna was started in 2010 and reported on news in Lackawanna County.

The publication claimed circulation of 12,382.

But in July, the Audit Bureau of Circulations issued a report showing distribution of the Times Leader and its branded Sunday editions was less than what the company claimed. Prashant Shitut, president and CEO of Impressions Media, said Go Lackawanna was omitted from the count because of a misinterpretation of the requirements.
