WILKES-BARRE - Supporters of the NEPA Tea Party rallied Monday evening on Public Square, hoping to sway voters toward Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on the eve of Election Day.

As the sun began to set, dozens lined the sidewalks toting signs that supported Mr. Romney and denounced President Barack Obama while country music, as well as an anti-Obama parody of MC Hammer's "Hammer Time," blasted in the background through a speaker system. The crowd drew supportive honks from passing motorists, along with the occasional heckle.

Back Mountain resident Michael Lacey said he attended the "Fire Obama Rally" to show the president's critics that they aren't alone.

"(In the media,) there seems to be a preference, in my opinion, of really the left agenda," Mr. Lacey said. "A lot of the information getting out there is not what we support, and because of that, we want to be out here to tell the folks that, look, we believe what you believe."

Mountaintop resident Bob Orbin said the rally was an active way to show his political support.

"There's a lot of people that come through here between now and rush hour," said Bob Orbin as he held a sign that read "Keep America Free, Fire Obama." "It's better than just having it sit in someone's yard."
