Marathon run for charity takes new form

Group to host relief collection

SCRANTON - Instead of running, "Team Lecky" will be collecting.

Since the ING New York City Marathon was canceled, "Ryan's Run 3" has become "Ryan's Recovery," and members of the team will spend today gathering supplies for relief agencies to be given to those affected by Superstorm Sandy in the New York/New Jersey area.

The collection will take place at the Allied Services Scranton Campus, 475 Morgan Highway, and Heinz Rehab Hospital, 150 Mundy St., Wilkes-Barre, from noon to 3 p.m.

Items needed include household cleaning supplies, children's toys, new T-shirts and underwear, among others.
