SCRANTON — A Taylor man who escaped from the Lackawanna County probation office on Tuesday is back in custody.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael P. Evans, 43, 449 N. Main St., without incident on Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. after locating him in a vehicle near state game lands in Archbald, Sheriff Mark McAndrew said.
The arrest followed the receipts of “a couple of anonymous tips” about the fugitive’s whereabouts, McAndrew said.
Evans was at the probation office for a parole violation when he fled late Tuesday morning.
He is held in the county prison on $100,000 bail after his arraignment on new charges including escape, flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest, McAndrew said.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled next Wednesday at 10 a.m.
