Dunmore police are investigating at least three break-ins Monday on the 500 block of William Street in which flat-screen televisions were taken.
The first was at Charistal Occhipinti's 501 William St. home. Someone kicked in the basement door and ransacked the house sometime between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
A 60-inch flat-screen television was missing, along with all of Ms. Occhipinti's jewelry and several silver dollars from the 1800s and 1900s, police said.
In addition, police found a jewelry box dumped out on the bed and an iPhone lying next to it, along with an undetermined amount of cash tied in a bandanna on the nightstand and an iPad on the floor next to the bed.
At Anil Patel's 515½ William St. home, police said the basement door had been kicked in, but it does not appear anything was taken.
Doug Caldwell said someone took two flat-screen televisions, valued at more than $3,500, from his 512 William St. home, police said.
Mr. Caldwell said a jewelry box containing a watch and multiple rings was missing from his bedroom, police said. Officers found a window screen in the yard and the living room window open.
A witness told police she saw two men loading something into a black Ford pickup at William Street and Ridge Avenue around 12:30 p.m. She described both men as short, skinny and in their 20s. One was Hispanic with long, black sideburns, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt.
Another witness said he saw two men loading what he thought was a chair into a green Dodge van about 10 a.m.
Anyone with information should call police at 343-0851.
