MADISONVILLE - Shifting winds blanketed smoke over Major Road as fire crews from around North Pocono battled a blaze that ultimately destroyed a home late Thursday night.
Firefighters on the scene said no one was home when a fire broke out at 3150 Major Road shortly after 10 p.m.. While no one was injured, all that remained of the home was charred outer brick walls, which smoldered for hours after the call came in.
Multiple fire departments, including Madisonville Volunteer Fire Department who led the response, rushed to the scene after a neighbor called 911 and reported seeing flames at the home. Fire crews were still on scene late into the night.
No information was available as to the cause or point of origin of the blaze.
