The VIP event
More than 100 people gathered at the VIP party at the DeNaples Center at the University of Scranton on Friday night, hoping to rub elbows with the folks who brought "The Office" to life.
Fans who arrived early for the reception watched bloopers in an auditorium at the DeNaples Center until the event began. The show's theme song played as the stars entered the ballroom.
Meeting Kate
Mariah Mancuso, 9, wasn't quite old enough to enjoy season one nine years ago.
That didn't stop the little lady from Dunmore from gushing about her meeting with actress Kate Flannery, who plays Meredith on the show.
"I just can't get over it," she said.
A stiff drink
Ms. Flannery handed a drink to Lackawanna County Commissioner Jim Wansacz as he took the stage to talk to the crowd, to big laughs from the crowd.
Draw a crowd
Armed with a gift bag full of their drawings, Dave Goldhahn, 23, and Jimmy Lincke, 27, exchanged grins as they stepped off the elevator.
They spent about 15 hours creating their drawings, which they hoped to give to cast members Friday.
"They've given so much with the nine seasons," Mr. Goldhahn said. "They all seem like really great people."
Weekend visit
Steph Stierle of Chester, N.Y., lucked out in having a friend studying at the University of Scranton whom she could visit for the weekend. She and U of S junior Joy Phelan of Warwick, N.Y., snapped a photo with Ms. Flannery.
Big winners
Just beyond a Jell-O mold with a suspended tape dispenser, Jon Luc Hefferman, 16, and Logan Hockley, 16, beamed after snapping photos with Brian Baumgartner.
"They were just as nice as I expected," Jon Luc said.
The pair traveled from Portland, Ore., after winning tickets in the Biggest Flan contest, where people submitted videos explaining why they were the show's biggest fan.
