Eight police cadets graduate
SCRANTON - Eight men are now qualified for law enforcement after Friday's graduation for the Lackawanna College Police Academy's 204th class.
Robert J. Burkley, Gordon B. Demmíng, Ryan A. Faraday, Ryan J. Gracia, James J. Malone Jr., Kevin D. Pembridge, Darrell T. Silverstein and Robert J. Vojtko graduated Friday night.
In keeping with a tradition that Director of Academy Operations Daniel Duffy began in October to honor a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty, the class stood for Deputy Kyle Pagerly of the Berks County Sheriff's Department. Deputy Pagerly was shot and killed while serving a warrant in Albany Twp. on June 6, 2011.
