Moosic Gerrity's plans renovation
MOOSIC - Gerrity's Supermarket has purchased the building it has leased on Birney Avenue in Moosic since 1997 and plans renovations and possibly expansion.
Joe Fasula of Gerrity's said the building was purchased from the landlord. Lackawanna County Recorder of Deeds office documents show the sellers as Betone Realty Company Inc. and purchase price of $1.570 million.
The interior of the store will be renovated and a 10,000-square-foot addition will be added to the north side of the building, currently 29,000 square feet. Mr. Fasula said the improvement will bring the store in line with the other recently updated Gerrity's.
