Weston Field
bids opened
SCRANTON - Officials at the Office of Economic and Community Development opened bids Tuesday for repairs to the Weston Field facility.
One project involves the exterior patch repair and repainting of Weston Field House's trim, soffit, eaves, columns, window frames, chimneys, ceilings, doors and door frames. Two bids for this work were received, including $14,440 by Pizzo Painting of Scranton and $46,863 by Postpak Painting of Wilkes-Barre.
The other project involves the repair, seal-coating and marking of lines on a basketball court and parking lot, and restoration of a walking track with stone dust. For this work, P&W Washo of Olyphant submitted a lone bid of $18,885.
The bids now would be reviewed by OECD legal counsel prior to any award. All work must be completed by Nov. 30, and the projects are being paid for with federal Community Development Block Grant funds.
