An Olyphant man was sentenced Tuesday for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl earlier this year.
Appearing before Lackawanna County Judge Michael J. Barrasse in a green county prison jumpsuit, Michael Pronko was sentenced to serve 12 to 24 months for inappropriately touching the victim while she slept on a couch in his home.
Mr. Pronko, 46, had drank eight to ten beers when he decided to put his hand up the victim's pants on March 31, according to police.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual assault.
When the victim woke up, she kicked him away. Later, he returned and touched her buttocks, police said.
The victim reported the crime to a friend's mother the next day. In interviews with police, Mr. Pronko, 912 E. Lackawanna Ave., admitted to touching her the first time.
Police charged him with aggravated assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
He pleaded guilty to two of the offenses: indecent assault and corruption of minors, according to court records.
Judge Barrasse also sentenced him to serve two years probation.
