A reward fund has been established in the hit-and-run death of 5-year-old Kevin Miller, killed Friday on North Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Three area businessmen have pledged $1,500 to start the fund and donations will be accepted, according to City-Wide Towing operator Bob Kadluboski, who announced the reward Thursday at the scene of the crime.
"Police need a hand on this one. Everyone is taking this one personally. Someone out there knows something," Kadluboski said.
Kadluboski presented a letter from First National Community Bank confirming a reward fund has been established "to accept donations for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the hit and run accident that killed Kevin Miller."
Donations could be made at any FNCB bank or mailed to the Wilkes-Barre branch at 23 W. Market St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701, the letter says.
Police believe a red sedan fatally struck Miller around 11 pm on Dec. 21 as he was walking across north street with his father, mother, two brothers and another couple. He was holding his fathers hand at the time, family said.
The group was leaving a Christmas party on North Street.
