Police find drugs, cash near schools

SCRANTON - A city woman faces drug charges after police found marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia in her apartment, which happened to be near a middle school.

City police executed a warrant on 28-year-old Terra Jefferson's 660 Adams Ave. home Friday afternoon and found a 50-gram bag of marijuana, a scale, a marijuana grinder, $172 in cash and bags she said she used to package and weigh the drugs, police said.

Her residence is just blocks away from Northeast Intermediate School, Lackawanna College and the Commonwealth Medical College, police said.

Ms. Jefferson faces charges including manufacturing a controlled substance and possession. Bail and arraignment information were not available Friday.
