A Scranton man is wanted for allegedly breaking into a home in Wilkes-Barre, armed with a baseball bat, and making threats toward the residents.
According to police, Sailon Castillo-Matos, 23, entered a home on Hazle Street through a window around 8 a.m. Sunday, with a baseball bat in hand.
Mr. Castillo-Matos encountered Luisa Rodriguez in the home and stated “I’m going to kill you,” police said. He went into her daughter, Arlene Figueroa-Rodriguez’s room and when he did not find her he added, “I’m going to finish what I started last night,” and left, according to police.
He allegedly went to her place of employment, the Passion Lounge in Wilkes-Barre, Saturday night and attempted to start a physical altercation with her, but was thrown out of the business and smashed out the window of her SUV, police said.
According to the police report, Mr. Castillo-Matos and Ms. Figueroa-Rodriguez were formerly in a relationship.
Ms. Figueroa-Rodriguez did not return home from work until after Mr. Castillo-Matos had already left, according to police.
Police said Ms. Figueroa-Rodriguez has secured a protection from abuse order.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Castillo-Matos on charges of burglary, criminal trespassing and terroristic threats. Police believe he may have fled to the Scranton area.
