SCRANTON - Neighbors in North Scranton on Saturday noticed the remnants of what police believe was an attempt to burn down an abandoned house.
Acting Scranton police Capt. Glen Thomas said officers responded to the vacant home at 2516 N. Main Ave. and found a restaurant menu had been stuck between the home's siding and a window then lit on fire.
The fire did not spread to the home, however, and may have gone unnoticed for some time, Capt. Thomas said.
