SCRANTON - Three men attacked a 16-year-old South Side boy with a baseball bat late Friday in a failed attempt to rob him, police said.
Acting Scranton police Capt. Glen Thomas said the three men approached the 16-year-old at East Elm Street and Prospect Avenue at about midnight.
The men told the 16-year-old to hand over his things but, as he did not have anything, one of the men hit him in the head with the bat and all three fled on foot, Capt. Thomas said.
The boy was later hospitalized for a possible broken nose. A description of his assailants was not available.
