Snow, ice likely to cause trouble
SCRANTON - Snow and ice could bookend today's commutes with slick roads, according to AccuWeather.
Snow, which was projected to start between 3 and 4 a.m., will continue into the early afternoon, with 1-2 inches of accumulation, senior meteorologist Mike Pigott said.
He didn't expect the snow to last as the afternoon warms, but cautioned that another hazard could be created.
"There will be a significant amount of melting on roadways during the day," he said. "Temperatures will get up to around 34, so a lot of snow will melt," causing ice in the evening.
