WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Police arrested an Easton man Saturday evening who allegedly tried to sell CDs at Wal-Mart and then threatened a witness with an ice pick in the Sheetz parking lot.

According to township police, Daniel Madsen, 31, attempted to sell the CDs inside of the Wal-Mart in the Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace around 11:20 p.m.

When Madsen was told to leave the store, he began to argue with employees, police said. A witness attempted to detain Madsen while police were responding, but he fled the parking lot, nearly striking the witness, according to police.

Madsen was followed to the Sheetz parking lot, where he allegedly brandished a weapon that the witness said appeared to be an ice pick, police said in a news release.

Madsen was taken into custody and charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
