A Fell Twp. man accused of taking part in a plan to break into several vehicles in Carbondale in June is now on the city police wanted list after he failed to appear for his preliminary hearing on Monday.
An arrest warrant was issued for Christopher Austin McGuire Jr., current address unavailable, after he did not show up for his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Paul Ware in Central Court in Scranton on Monday, Carbondale Police Chief Jeff Taylor said.
Carbondale charged Mr. McGuire, 21, with 11 misdemeanor counts, including theft from a motor vehicle and corruption of minors.
According to arrest papers, Mr. McGuire conspired with a juvenile male to break into multiple vehicles on Cemetery Street in the city on June 19.
The juvenile would rifle through the vehicles while Mr. McGuire was the "lookout person," who was also handed the stolen goods, the arrest papers stated.
City police searched Mr. McGuire and found a digital music player, a GPS unit, and about $10 in loose change in his pockets, arrest papers stated.
