A work crew discovered the body of a Scranton woman who had been missing for about three weeks Friday morning.
The crew was in a wooded area off Luzerne Street and South Sherman Avenue when they discovered Sharon Price's body at about 11:30 a.m., acting Scranton Police Chief Carl Graziano.
There were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, but the investigation into her death is ongoing pending an autopsy scheduled for Monday, Chief Graziano said.
Mrs. Price was reported missing by her husband, Tom Price Sr., Oct. 27 when she never returned from her appointment at a hair salon at 1431 Luzerne St. The 62-year-old was partially blind and suffered from schizophrenia.
She was found wearing the clothes she was last seen in, in the wooded area several blocks from her Rear 414 14th Ave. home, Chief Graziano said. The area where she was discovered is at the bottom of a ravine that was not visible from the road, he said.
Mrs. Price's step-son Steve Price said she was an awesome woman, wife and friend who was outgoing, loving, kind-hearted and would give the shirt off her back for anyone who needed it.
"She was my dad's soul mate," Mr. Price said.
Mr. Price said his step-mother and his father were together for 17 years and married for seven. Mrs. Price had a daughter, a son and three step-sons, he said.
After weeks of not knowing, they family is glad the search for Mrs. Price is over.
"It definitely brings closure. We have her back," Mr. Price said.
