City man facing assault charges
SCRANTON - A city man punched his ex-girlfriend in the face Thursday afternoon when the two argued about him making out with another girl in front of the house the two share, police said.
Jamal Tarver, 28, 1371 Wyoming Ave., punched Cynthia Williams in the face, grabbed her by the throat, threw her on the ground and kicked her in the ribs and back, police said.
He then elbowed their roommate, Catherine Watson, in the face and grabbed her by the neck when she tried to break up the fight, police said.
Mr. Tarver was charged with simple assault and harassment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday. Mr. Tarver was in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
