Police probe theft of dozens of tires
SCRANTON - City police are investigating the theft of about 50 tires owned by the state Board of Probation and Parole from a storage unit in West Side.
Acting police Capt. Glen Thomas said the tires - valued at about $3,700 - had been stored in a unit at Space Savers, 210 S. Seventh Ave., since July.
A state parole agent looking for the tires discovered the theft Wednesday morning, Capt. Thomas said. It was not clear when the theft occurred.
