SCRANTON - A city woman who police said drunkenly bit and hit ambulance crew members and struck a police officer in the face when they tried to transport her to a hospital during Monday night's storm was arrested.
Scranton police found Carrol Votta, 44, 536 Fig St., staggering in the street and tried to assist her, but had to arrest her when she became combative with police and emergency responders while being placed into an ambulance.
Ms. Votta was charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. She was arraigned Tuesday, is slated for a preliminary hearing Wednesday, and was released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
