A Pittston man was charged with shooting a man during a disturbance at a city home early Sunday morning, according to police.
Eli Quadree Smith, 25, faces multiple felony charges in connection with the alleged shooting.
Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at an Elizabeth Street home at 12:27 a.m. Sunday, Pittston police said in a news release.
The man who had been shot ran from the residence to the Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance station, and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The shooting victim told police he was with a friend at her home when a man later identified as Smith entered the home. The victim said Smith assaulted him and a woman, and that during the altercation Smith discharged a firearm, injuring the victim.
Smith fled the scene but officers located him shortly and took him into custody, police said.
Smith was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment.
He was arraigned Sunday before Magisterial District Judge Michael Dotzel, then sent to Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
Smith has no prior criminal history in Pennsylvania other than traffic offenses, according to court records.
