CARBONDALE
Wayne County sheriff’s deputies captured a man Thursday who was wanted for selling methamphetamine in 2018, according to Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell.
Deputies arrested Toby G. Kimbrough, 42, formerly of Florence, Alabama, at a home in Carbondale stemming from a controlled drug buy in October 2018 where Kimbrough sold an informant $850 worth of methamphetamine in Beach Lake, authorities said. He then fled to Alabama.
Kimbrough conspired to sell an ounce of methamphetamine with two other men, according to Howell. Jeremiah Guthrie pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance, and the other man died, Howell said.
Kimbrough is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and related charges. He is in custody at the Wayne County Correctional Center on $50,000 bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m.
