BERWICK -- A Carbondale man could stand trial for criminal homicide and robbery charges following a borough woman’s death in October, a Columbia County judge ruled today.

Magisterial District Judge Richard W. Knecht found enough evidence to send all charges against Christopher Wolf Lynn, 26, 86 Wyoming Ave., Apt. 2, to a possible trial.

But Knecht dismissed all charges against Lynn’s brother, Michael Allen Porth, 30, of Berwick, because of a lack of evidence, said Porth’s attorney Jason Shrive.

The two were charged after Geraldine Carson was found unresponsive and badly beaten at her home in Berwick on Oct. 8. She later died from her injuries. Porth maintained his innocence and cooperated with police, Shrive said.

Lynn remains in Columbia County Prison without bail.
