Moosic police and investigators with the Lackawanna County district attorney’s office are conducting an “ongoing investigation” at an assisted living facility in the borough, Police Chief Richard Janesko said.

Janesko confirmed that investigators with both agencies went to Oakwood Terrace, 400 Gleason Drive, sometime after 1 p.m. today.

“It’s an ongoing investigation,” Janesko said. “That’s all I can tell you.”

A person who picked up the phone at Oakwood Terrace said there would be no comment from the facility.

A message left with District Attorney Mark Powell was not immediately returned.

The 58-bed memory care assisted living facility was purchased about three years ago for $8.5 million by New York City firm Premier Senior Living Group LLC.
