SCRANTON — A South Scranton woman took another woman’s cellphone and clothing at gunpoint while both were visiting an apartment on Capouse Avenue, police said.
Rita Perry, 49, 1014 Prospect Ave., was taken into custody on Silex Street and charged with robbery, theft and other offenses.
Ericka Atkinson told officers she was spending Monday night at 857 Capouse when Perry pointed a gun at her and accused her of robbing someone named Gucci, police said. Perry then grabbed her cellphone and clothing and fled.
After her arrest, Perry admitted possessing a pellet gun that she discarded near Phelps Street but denied robbing Atkinson, police said.
Perry was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge John Pesota, who ordered her held in Lackawanna County Prison on $8,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is set for 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
