HANOVER TWP.

A new state police headquarters and training center could soon be built in Hanover Twp. to replace the current headquarters of Troop P, Wyoming in Wyoming Borough.

Developer George Albert has agreed to purchase 20 acres of Earth Conservancy land along the new South Valley Parkway to construct the facility.

The proposed 55,000-square-foot facility would consolidate the state police headquarters in Wyoming and a training center in Forty Fort.

The new facility will have upgraded technology and a central procurement and supply wing where area troopers could obtain ammunition and other supplies. It also will include a 19,000-square-foot indoor gun range. Troopers from the eastern side of the state would use the new facility for training.

Albert hopes the sale will be complete by the end of the year, but he still is seeking planning and zoning approvals before he can close on the property and start construction.
