CARBONDALE — The Carbondale Area School Board is accepting resumes for a school board seat left vacant by Joseph Totsky.
Totsky resigned from his Region 1 seat on Friday to spend more time with his family. The term expires the first week of December.
Eligible candidates can apply for the position by sending a letter of interest and resume to Gary Smedley, president, Board of Directors Carbondale Area School District, 101 Brooklyn St., Carbondale, PA 18407, by Aug. 13.
The board will then interview candidates and accept Totsky’s resignation during a special meeting on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Carbondale Area High School Auditorium.
He ran unopposed in May and was reelected. The county Democratic and Republican parties will select replacement candidates to run on the November ballot.
