Three people face charges after police said they set up a drug deal in downtown Scranton on Tuesday.
Officers worked with an informant to set up the deal to buy 10 bags of heroin for $80 at Wyoming Avenue and Mulberry Street, according to court paperwork.
Santinie Manuel Anthony Alvarez, 39, 169 S. Hyde Park Ave., Apt. 3S, Scranton, arrived at the location in a white Saturn SUV with Sandra Basile, 53, 41 Maxwell St., Wilkes-Barre, and Yanira Cardona, 26, homeless, police said.
Police arrested all three after the deal concluded. During a search, police found a small bag of synthetic marijuana and $156 on Alvarez. They also discovered a bag of synthetic marijuana on Basile and an additional 42 packets of heroin and three amphetamine pills stashed in the car.
All three face counts of possession with intent to deliver and related charges and were taken to Lackawanna County Prison — Alvarez and Basile in lieu of $100,000 bail each and Cardona in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Preliminary hearings in all three cases are slated for 9 a.m. Aug. 8.
