A Dalton man serving a prison sentence for molesting a teenage girl will spend more time in prison after a county judge on Wednesday sentenced him for sexually assaulting a woman in a separate incident in 2011.

Conrad Gockley, 22, must register as a sexually violent predator for life after Lackawanna County Judge Michael J. Barrasse approved at his sentencing hearing in county court the state assessment of Mr. Gockley's psychological state.

Before the judge imposed his punishment of 32 months to nine years in state prison, Mr. Gockley blamed a drug relapse for causing the second set of sexual assault charges filed against him.

"I do remember bits and pieces, but I know the outcome is what happened," the shackled Barn Hill Road man said before a sheriff's deputy escorted him back to prison.

"I relapsed and I shouldn't have," he said. "I have to pay for it."

On Halloween in 2011, the victim, then 19, was trick-or-treating when she returned home in Dunmore with her friend, Mr. Gockley and one of his friends, arrest papers filed by borough police stated.

The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual abuse.

Once inside the home, Mr. Gockley sent a text message to the young woman, asking her to go upstairs.

Via text, she refused. So, Mr. Gockley asked for help locating the bathroom.

Heading upstairs with him for that purpose, Mr. Gockley pushed her into a bedroom and raped her, police said.

Even though she started to hyperventilate and demanded he stop, he refused to relent, police said. In January, he pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors, unlawful restraint, simple assault, and indecent assault.

A little more than a month before the Halloween incident, Mr. Gockley appeared in county court to plead guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Ransom Twp. on March 27, 2011, according to court records.

He was free on bail and awaiting sentencing on this offense when the second offense happened, court records stated.

In that incident, Mr. Gockley, then 19, pulled his vehicle to the side of a road in a secluded area and molested the girl, state police said.

Judge Vito P. Geroulo sentenced him in January 2012 to 22 to 48 months in prison following his guilty plea to corruption of minors and aggravated indecent assault, felony grade offenses.
