Bridge repairs to finish today
SCRANTON - The state Department of Transportation said Tuesday was expected to be the last of facade repairs on the Harrison Avenue bridge.
Both directions on the Central Scranton Expressway were reduced to a single lane Tuesday starting at 7 p.m. and are expected to reopen at 6 a.m. today.
Workers scraped more loose decorative facade from the bridge and sprayed a protective coating to prevent any pieces from falling off the bridge.
Work began last week after a chunk of the bridge broke off and struck the windshield of a passing vehicle on Thursday.
