Alleged burglar nabbed
HONESDALE - A Wayne County man accused of breaking into another man's home and stealing a revolver, cash and personal items was arrested Thursday in Port Jervis, N.Y., State Trooper Connie Devens said.
John Reck, 33, of Rosengrant Road, allegedly forced his way into the home and assaulting the person living there at 8:30 p.m. on May 17. Inside he stole a .22 revolver, an undisclosed amount of cash, a cellphone and keys. Everything but the cash was returned to the victim by his landlord, police said.
Mr. Reck is charged with burglary, robbery, theft, simple assault and related charges. Bail and preliminary hearing information was not immediately available.
