SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — A 28-year-old businesswoman and instructor opened an after-school enrichment program along Northern Boulevard in South Abington Twp.
Rati Kanani of Mount Pocono opened Kumon Math and Reading Center of Clarks Summit on Sept. 13 where students from preschool to high school can receive after-school instruction.
The program uses the Kumon method, which is designed to help students become “self-learners” and advance math and reading skills beyond conventional tutoring. It offers individualized instruction to improve study and problem solving skills and increase concentration.
Kanani has around 20 students, a spokeswoman said, and is currently enrolling new students.
