Burger King heist lands man in jail
SCRANTON - An Old Forge man will spend up to 18 months in county prison for a strong-arm robbery at the borough's Burger King on Main Street in October.
On Monday, Judge Michael J. Barrasse sentenced Nicholas Vineyard, 19, to nine to 18 months in county prison, followed by five years of probation.
Mr. Vineyard, 428 Dunn Ave., flashed a knife at a Burger King manager and made her open cash registers and a safe, according to borough police. He made off with $1,745.
In February, Mr. Vineyard pleaded guilty to one robbery charge, a felony offense.
