Pilchesky case headed to trial
SCRANTON - A city man accused of illegally practicing law waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday, moving his charges to Lackawanna County Court and a possible trial.
Joseph Pilchesky, 64, 819 Sunset St., was charged by the state attorney general's office on Feb. 27 with four counts of practicing law without a license in four different cases, ranging from an unfavorable Scranton Board of Zoning Appeals ruling to a custody battle.
His estranged and jailed wife, Joanne Ricci Pilchesky, wrote to Lackawanna County District Attorney Andy Jarbola in April 2012 to accuse her husband of practicing law and being paid for it.
His formal arraignment is scheduled for June 28.
