Waving signs emblazoned with their anti-bullying slogan, fifth-graders at Abington Heights Middle School gathered Thursday to greet the tractor-trailer their classmate designed to promote anti-bullying.

The trailer, owned by Road Scholar Transport, is painted with a stop light and the slogan "Stop bullying. Slow down and think. Go report bullying," which students at Abington Heights Middle School came up with last year.

Since then, the truck has traveled across the lower 48 states, to cities like Boston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago "to bring an awareness and to get people involved in an anti-bullying campaign," said Jim Barrett, owner or Road Scholar Transport.

Mr. Barrett's grandson, Colton, came up with the idea to put the slogan on the truck after he became concerned his brother may be a victim of bullying, Mr. Barrett said.

Lackawanna County Assistant District Attorney Frank Castellano, who handles juvenile cases, addressed the students to remind them of how simple bullying is.

"Words have meanings. The things that you say to people make a difference and actions have consequences," he said.
