SCRANTON - A hearing for a preliminary injunction has been set in the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County's case against Riverside School District.

Riverside sued to leave the nine-district consortium and the CTC and the remaining districts countersued to make Riverside liable for its share of the 2012-13 budget and $18.1 million renovation project.

The hearing has been set for Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. in front of Judge Robert A. Mazzoni, CTC solicitor Ned Abrahamsen said at the its board meeting Thursday night.

Riverside is now sending some students to the Wilkes-Barre Area Career and Technical Center in Plains Twp. More than 20, however, opted to stay at the Lackawanna CTC.

On Thursday, Riverside asked a judge to rule it has the right to terminate its participation in the CTC because there are no capital expenditures outstanding. The court filing references the consortium's articles of agreement to support the request.
