Police identified the victim of a fatal Wyoming County all-terrain vehicle crash as a Tunkhannock Area High School junior and wrestler.
Circumstances surrounding the death of 17-year-old Christopher Packer are still under investigation, state police in Tunkhannock said Monday night. The teen was a passenger on an ATV that crashed on private property off Vago Road in Lemon Twp. about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Christopher died at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital on Sunday morning.
Superintendent Michael Healey said, "The entire school district is extremely saddened by the loss of this young man who was well respected by his teachers, staff and fellow students."
A memorial service for Christopher, the son of Kevin and Donna Packer, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home in Tunkhannock.
