A 31-year-old Benton man faces up to seven years in prison after he admitted stealing $43 from a Nicholson business.
David James Wheeler entered a guilty plea Friday before President Judge Russell Shurtleff, who informed him he also faces a $15,000 fine.
Court records show that shortly after midnight Sept. 8, surveillance footage at the Farmer's Supply on Main Street in Nicholson showed Mr. Wheeler removing cash from a register.
After being shown the footage, Mr. Wheeler admitted to the burglary, police said.
Mr. Wheeler said he was high on methamphetamine and sick at the time he committed the act and used money to buy cigarettes and cold medicine. He told police that the business' doors appeared unsecured, so he went inside.
His sentencing hearing has not been set.
