Lockheed gets $34M USAF order
ARCHBALD - The U.S. Air Force has issued a $34.1 million order to Lockheed Martin on a precision munitions contract, the company reported.
The extension is part of a $475 million, five-year armament contract the Air Force announced in August 2011. The local Lockheed work involves guidance and control electronics and tail stabilizer apparatus that convert gravity-propelled aerial bombs to laser-guided ordnance.
Lockheed's Archbald plant employs about 425 people.
