NEWTON TWP. - A township man remains in critical condition at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton after his riding lawn mower tipped on top of him while he was cutting his neighbor's grass on Saturday.
Police found Edward Snell, 45, trapped under the mower and unresponsive at 1621 Newton-Ransom Blvd. at about 1:45 p.m.
Mr. Snell's injuries were caused by the weight of the lawn mower falling on top of him. He was not cut by the machine's blades, Police Chief Robert Gerrity said. The incident was an accident, he said.
Mr. Snell has remained in critical condition since Saturday, hospital spokeswoman Wendy Wilson said Monday.
