Hard work is paying off for Michael Gilbride. His proudest accomplishment is his current rank as valedictorian of his senior class - an achievement he says he has worked for his entire academic career.
Michael is president of West's student council, an activity that he says is his most rewarding.
"Being able to work with my peers and make positive changes in my school community was very fulfilling," he said.
Michael also works as a mentor for incoming freshmen, was selected "Scholar of the Year" through the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit program and is a member of the school's Scholastic Bowl team.
He was selected as the school's representative for "Tomorrow's Leaders Today" and is a four-year member of the drama club.
In his spare time, he likes to stay active by playing sports and exercising and says he tries his best to lead a healthy life.
Michael plans to attend the University of Scranton and is undecided on a major.
