Planned roadwork schedule changed
SCRANTON - A contractor has changed the schedule for when parts of the McDade Expressway will be closed next week for work between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the Main Avenue bridge, a state Department of Transportation spokesman said Friday.
Michael Taluto said the expressway's outbound lanes will still be closed on Tuesday for a small stretch near the Main Avenue exit.
Drivers headed from Scranton toward Clarks Summit and Dickson City can take the Main Avenue exit, head straight through the intersection, and continue back on the expressway to avoid the work, he said.
The same part of the expressway was to be closed to traffic heading from Clarks Summit or Dickson City toward Scranton on Monday, but Mr. Taluto said that work has been moved to Wednesday. The detour remains the same.
