Deeds session moved to hotel
SCRANTON - Monday's kickoff meeting for the Lackawanna County recorder of deeds office's new electronic land- document recording system has been moved to the Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel.
Recorder of Deeds Evie Rafalko McNulty said Friday more than 100 people have signed up for the 10 a.m. training session, too many to be accommodated at her office in the Gateway Center.
The new system lets title companies, banks and others use the Web-based service Simplifile to electronically scan, upload and submit land documents to the county for recording.
A Simplifile official will be on hand Monday to demonstrate the system and answer questions.
